WORKSHOP: The Art of Storytelling (All ages)
Inspire a love of language and the spoken word through a hands-on program designed to awaken the imagination and inspire the mind. Students learn to develop the basic skills of storytelling with exercises in characterization, creating a sense of place, plot development and story mapping. Students play with figurative language, body posture, sound effects, facial expression, gesture and presentation skills. Content is customized for all age levels from kindergarten to adult and can easily be incorporated into any curriculum. Jim offers a variety of arrangements from compact one-hour sessions for staff to all-day or multiple day residencies for students. References are available.

WORKSHOP: The Power of Storytelling (Staff)
This 1 to 3 hour program is designed to give teachers more tools to use to link storytelling skills with Common Core Standards and to teach cross curricular themes, build student learning skills, promote a welcoming school climate, combat bullying and to complement a host of other strategies to improve student learning and achievement.
